I gotta watch this movie sometime!

Sukala-AP responds:

Please do, it's peak fiction!

Rada rada.

Implications are a little strange, LOL.

You're similar in age to my brother! :-)

The color scheme is really cool!

I was just as shocked as you were to hear them actually call Skar Taka! Now his name doesn't make sense. Do they explain it in the movie? I haven't seen it.

Sukala-AP responds:

The name "Taka" originates from this book (https://lionking.fandom.com/wiki/A_Tale_of_Two_Brothers) published in the 90s, which also explains Mufasa & Scar's backstory.

Now for some reason it found its way into mainstream media decades after the Lion King fanbase made a huge fuss out of it, with normies making articles out of it.

People have thought it meant "rubbish", when it's the term "takataka" that defines it. Just "taka" means "to want".

"can i just say, it feels like these modern characters are actually designed as humans, but then the animators are like "Oh yeah, they're underwater animals" and just change some things like the skin tone, nose, or hands..."
It really does feel like that, doesn't it? I agree. Narwhals and sperm whales may be different, but I feel like Narleen should've looked more similar to how Pearl is designed. For one, SHE DOESN'T HAVE HUMAN FEET. There've been other cetacean characters in show before [The orca background character, Pearl, and that one prisoner sperm whale], so why does Narleen look nothing like ANY OF THEM? She's a WHALE. What she does look is some deformed pink human with an elongated ice cream cone for a nose. I do like the seaweed hair though, I admit. That's the only nice part about her design.

STOOORMCATCHER!

There I am, Gary, there I am!
